Eloquent Expressionalism The thick morning fog swirls in plumes on the field as the sun attempts to break through the cover above. Hues of orange, purple, and red combine to form a breathtaking vista that belies the nature of what’s transpiring. The tall grass is stained red. Heat and humidity work in sync to establish an invisible barrier that bonds clothing to skin with little effort. To either side stand men in arms. Fujiwara Clan and Governance Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

Fujiwara Clan and Governance - Essay Example Although the history of japan is often illustrated by institutional progress, it has had some significant turning points. As such, japan has had a long interesting history. Archeological evidence implies that people have resided in the region since the prehistoric era. This vast history is divided into groups so as to make it more manageable. These periods often have varying lengths i.e. decades to centuries. The Fujiwara family dominated japan between794 to 1160. There is no record of a specific starting year of their dominance in the government. To ensure they ruled the state of japan, they made emperors to be just puppets. An increase in population, food production decline and competition for resources saw the decline of the Fujiwara family and other great families. These problems engineered the occurrence of various military disturbances. The Taira and Minamoto who were Fujiwara family members attacked each other over land issues. This led to the collapse of the Fujiwara family as they created rival regimes. The In no cho took over from the Fujiwara clan. They slowly replaced the Fujiwara court members by the Minamoto family. Unlike previous regimes where civil authority controlled the government, military might determine the strength of the government. Despite its eventual decline, the Fujiwara clan was very successful in governance as a result of the factors highlighted herein.

Psychologial Delvelopment on HIV-infected Teen Essay

Psychologial Delvelopment on HIV-infected Teen - Essay Example 274). There are a lot of issues faced by Teenagers according to their temperaments but the few which are common among most of them includes Disclosure, Medical Adherence, Relationships, and Psychological Issues. (Hosek, Harper, Domanico, Page no. 272). Most teenagers contract HIV through Intravenous Drugs, Unsafe Sexual Practices like taking the risks of not wearing condoms, or uncircumcised penises, or engaging in homosexual activities etc. The first issue is about the Issue of disclosure; people tend to keep the information about their condition to themselves cause of the fear how the surroundings or environment is going to react. (Hosek, Harper, Robinson, Page no. 356) The prime fear is not about how they are going to take it, the prime fear is about how they are going to react, whether they’ll just say your sick its your problem, or some people feel proud and say â€Å"I told you so†. Also what matters is the general teenage philosophy of the 21st Century is that â €Å"Needing Someone is a Sign of Weakness† and if they show someone their vulnerable side they might look like a wuss. Another issue is the Issue of Medication, Teenagers doesn’t like to rely on anyone, they don’t like to work in a timetable, they do their tasks as they come along they don’t like to work in a routine, the dilemma here is that HIV cocktail have to be taken in an order, the patient cant miss any scheduled medication, cause it messes with the already compromised Immune system. The issue with a normal teenager as I mentioned above is that they don’t like to rely on anyone, they think of it as something that’s just extending their life and not in an affirmative way and starts living with the faith that they are almost as good as dead. Many other problems came across such if you are at work, it s difficult to take the medications cause of the primal fear of

Euthanasia Essay - The Need for Physician Assisted Suicide :: Free Euthanasia Essay

The Need for Physician Assisted Suicide Man is born with death in his hand. We all will die. We may be able to postpone death but we cannot avoid it. We all die of something, somewhere, somehow. Although we cannot avoid death, we can control the death caused by a terminal illness. We can determine how, when, where, and with whom we die. Right now at this time, there are over 10,000 patients in the United States that are in a permanent vegetative state. Also there are thousands of handicapped infants born each year. With the technology we have today, we are able to help people survive for long periods. About two million Americans die every year. About 85% of them are in an institution. 80% involve a decision by someone to try to prolong life or to let it go. It is estimated that around four of every five Americans will die of lingering, chronic illness, which cannot be cured but can be artificially prolonged. Odds are not in your favor to die naturally at home. The following are some thing to clear up any confusion about assisted suicide and euthanasia. Euthanasia is act of mercifully ending the life of a hopelessly suffering patient; taken from a similar Greek word meaning "easy or good death" Physician-Assisted Suicide - assisted by a qualified medical practitioner in fulfilling the wishes of a competent, terminally-ill patient to end his/her own life, usually by means of lethal injections. The difference between the two is during euthanasia is when death itself occurs, it's carried out by the doctor but in doctor-assisted suicides, the patient fulfills the final step of terminating his/her own life. "Passive" Euthanasia is ending a patient's life by withholding or withdrawing life-sustaining treatments, and "Active" Euthanasia is causing a virtually painless death by means without which life would continue naturally, usually referring to lethal injections and lastly, suicide is the act of taking one's own life voluntarily and intentionally. A very well talked about doctor who assists in suicide is Dr. Jack Kevorkian. He has pointed out the benefits of assisted suicide. Some of those are that it reduces patient's suffering family and friends of patient. Dr. Kevorkian also asks his own patients to donate vital organs or undergo a critical medical experiment, which helps science, medicine, society, and the lives of others.

Deltona Lines Inc

Then Del-Bess would be the entity to purchase the assets from Jay Transportation and lease them to Boson Freight Company. The remaining 60 million necessary to fund the purchase would be provided by bank financing. There are four main issues within this case. The first is, is this a temporary control issue for Dalton. Temporary control means that a primary company forms a Joint venture with a secondary company that would be a temporary investment to help the primary company to acquire the sought company. Business structure was formed by two or more parties for a specific purpose.Joint ventures usually are limited to one or two projects or purposes. The case Is referring to equity-based Joint ventures which benefits foreign and/or local private interests, groups of interests, or members of the general public. Benefit of this would be that partners would save money and reduce their risks through capital and resource sharing. One key difference in partnership and Joint venture is that t he Joint venture is based on a single business transaction. An example Is that Boson Freight Company wanted to Join with Dalton In purchasing Jay Transportation Inc.The second Issue is why Dalton would want to avoid consolidation. Dalton would want to avoid consolidation because It doesn't own any common stock or its investment might be temporary. Due to preferred stock may also be callable, meaning that the company has the option to purchase the shares from shareholders at anytime for any reason (usually for a premium). A third issue is how Dalton should account for their investment for financial report purposes (equity or cost). Del-sees subsidiary should be reported under the equity method by Dalton because of 80 percent controlling Interest.Under equity method, we record the investments at cost and adjust for earnings, losses, and dividends. Dalton would have consolidated financial statements due to 80 percent voting preferred stock. The last issue for Dalton is does the fair va lue method present a viable option for reporting and why or why not. Yes. Dalton Flanagan reporting would report Investment at cost, then by using the working paper entries to adjust cost to fair alee this would allows the two companies to consolidate the subsidiary (Dell-Bess) with the parent (Dalton) and identify the controlling interest share.

Integrity And Religion - Free Essay Example

Sample details Pages: 3 Words: 810 Downloads: 1 Date added: 2019/05/08 Category Society Essay Level High school Tags: Integrity Essay Did you like this example? We were assigned the scenario that we receive a call from a church friend with a moral question. He says that he was asked to falsify a federal document at work. He is afraid that if he refuses to do so he will be fired, and his young family of four will have no income to rely upon. Don’t waste time! Our writers will create an original "Integrity And Religion" essay for you Create order In a world where white lies are accepted as okay, this is a scenario that can be hard for a Christian to tackle but it must be handled in an appropriate way. We will be looking at this through the Bible, most specifically through the scope of Matthew 5/The Sermon on the Mount and through other teachings of our Lord and Savior Jesus. When we are faced with the question of if we should do something that we know is wrong it is easier for us to say no, but when consequences come along with doing the right thing, it makes it harder to actually make the right answer. The question comes up of, If God really loves me wont he want me to do what is best for my family and just lie so I still have a job? While God wants us to be happy and safe, He still gave a set of rules and he expects us to follow them no matter what we face. He actually knew that we would face problems with these things and so He gave us some direct instruction on this topic in Matthew 5:10-11. It says, Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. (biblegateway.com) Blessed? Why would I be blessed when Im being fired from my job? That seems like more of a curse! Jesus wants us to know that when we follow His will do the right thing everytime there is going to be a reward for us. He says in verse 12, Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you. (biblegateway.com) Again, it seems strange to rejoice and be glad after suffering but the statement right after tells us why we need to do so. We are going to have a great in Heaven! Our Christian race is what we run so that we can one day spend eternity in Heaven with God. Jesus says in this passage to all the people that are standing around listening to this sermon that if they do the right thing, even if its hard, you will get that. Well werent these verses written for the people who lived in Jesus time who didnt have running water, electricity, etc? As John Piper says in his commentary of these verses The first question I would like to take upis whether Jesuss words about persecution are relevant in these days. Has modern society become so tolerant that talk of persecution is outdated? My answer is that these verses are very relevant and not at all outdated. (desiringgod.org) Jesus wanted us to know that even in times where things are easier than they used to be there will still be struggles. Each generation has a different set of persecutions that come in many different forms, but they do still exist. This scenario that we have been given is a great example of modern day trials, and potentially persecution. In James 1:2-3 it says, Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. (biblegateway.com) These verses help us understand that when things such as being asked to lie about something at work comes up, we need to do what is right because it will eventually produce steadfastness. It will be easier to resist such things next time they appear in our lives. Finally, doing the right thing in this situation will bring about a reward that is eternal and that is worth more than your job or anything else on this earth. The trials we go through in this life are to prove that we are worthy to inherit such a great reward when we die. Paul says in 1 Peter 1:6-7, In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. (biblegateway.com) When the revelation of Jesus Christ comes we can be confident in the fact that we will receive praise, glory and honor as these verses clearly state.
